I think it all started with credit hours. Well, just mostly the fact that Harrington wasn't taking enough of them. But somewhere along the line, promulgating obscure opinions became the rage of the day, slowing productivity like a day without coffee. And the next thing I know, I'm working at Wellesley Booksmith, where staff recommendations are laminated and posted on the wall, next to the favorite book with its 20% off sticker. And people want to know what I'm reading. And then people want to know what I'm watching and what I'm listening to. And this little corner becomes a place to share the really good things in life. |
