She finds herself drawn to astronomical events: the setting sun, rising moon, falling stars, and pulling tides. Again, she persuades him to accompany her to the Lost Coast: to comb the beaches for colorful stones, to gaze longingly into infinite waters. His eye is drawn to an alluring opalescent color in the sand, which, upon closer examination, he finds painted on her small toenails. He is astonished that after all this time he still has something to learn about her unique style. She quietly asks him what provokes his sly smile. He answers by bobbing into an oncoming wave to grant her a most unusual kiss.
