Ellen Miller's
Like Being Killed
...and I actually
finished The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle this weekend instead of chucking it aside like I was
tempted to do so many, many times. It was rewarding, but not satisfying.

they stuck the landing...
I found out yesterday that Todd and Hayley were in a horrible
car accident during the blizzardy weather on Friday... but managed to escape enormously
serious injury. It was good to realize that Todd didn't lose his sense of humor amidst the
gloom and doom of such a tragedy. He sent me an email with the subject "We Stuck the Landing"
filled with Top Gun references. But knowing Todd, I wouldn't expect any less.

contemplative conversation over bottles of Chianti...
After last night, I can't figure out why Jeffrey and I waited so long to get together for a
drink... so much to say and think about... a very inspiring time.
in my comment field...
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the
mysterious. He to whom this emotion is a stranger,
who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."

6 years of expectation...
No one can live up to that kind of pressure... and I'm subsequently disenchanted as it colors dark
lines over my pastel romanticized ideas.
photo-op...
Can't wait to get the photo of me kissing Einstein's cheek. Laine has the best travel
tips.
uncanny...
So I've known for a while that there is this comic book heroine called WhirlGirl and her
site is often confused with mine... but recently Ramona found this description that was
just too close for comfort. Is it me or is it her? "WhirlGirl - twenty-first century
twenty-something who fights for freedom against a tyrannical mediatech empire with new
episodes weekly." Freaky!
