too
structured, completely closed off
29 September 1999
Two melancholy days.
And then this familiar phrase floated through my mind and it finally took hold... in a lightbulb-shining-over-my-head kind of way.
Sally: "I'm difficult."
Harry: "Challenging."
Sally: "I'm too structured... I'm completely closed off."
Harry: "But in a good way."
The bright, shining example of this is the way I hovered over Todd's desk today, purging scraps of paper and filing hopeless paperwork, and in general, inching him closer and closer to a stroke. I kidnapped a piece of paper with six consultants' names scribbled on it and rewrote it with my font-like printing: perfectly centered both vertically and horizontally on the page. As I handed it back to Todd he said, "Your pathetic life has dropped to a new low level."
I couldn't agree more.
What's your psychosis?
