Imagine a series of early morning telephone conversations. I wear pajama bottoms with one leg longer than the other and it drags underneath my foot as I stumble to the kitchen. I hover over my cappuccino machine, roughly 95% into the coffee and 5% into Todd's ideas. But after caffeine, the creative banter improves considerably and design is born.

The process is almost always the same: I brainstorm a layout, a color scheme, a plan. Todd improves layer upon layer, adding depth and shading and a mask of professionalism. I spend a great deal of time dotting i after i. There's at least one "eureka in the bathtub"... or in the shower, or upon waking up after a really good dream that pulls the whole thing together. And there's always plenty of telethon talk about all the amazing work we're both doing.

And wa-la... whirlygirl.

Everyone deserves a professional soul mate... someone to compliment his/her strengths with a different skill set and temper and frame of mind. I've met my match in Todd. He swims in geek humor and pushes envelopes and understands my thought fragments without words... and whirlygirl would be no where without him.
