in my cd player...

Arling & Cameron
Music for Imaginary Films

Even more delightful than the songs themselves, are the imaginary movie posters and tag lines that accompany each song. From "W.E.E.K.E.N.D.": "The story follows the high jinx weekend adventures of a group of teen students who are living away from home for the first time and whose idea of a good time makes the Brady Bunch look like a pack of drooling crackheads."

on the page...

Alexis deTocqueville
Democracy in America

So in reality, I'm averaging about 5 pages a day... but that doesn't mean that I'm not enjoying it.

fan clubs and such...

Tonight at dinner with Nancy, Deb, BJ, and Tammy, I realized that whirlygirl owes most of its slight following to Todd's cameos. Can you imagine what would happen if Todd actually channeled some of that creative energy into his own site?

stalking mariannas...

During a speaker phone conference call between Todd, Marianna, and I, Todd casually asked if I'd told Marianna about my tendency to stalk Mariannas. Needless to say, it led to the exchange of a few questionable glances. I finally sat down later to explain the story of my WMBR dj hero, Marianna, to my fabulous actress hero/friend, Marianna. The air was cleared and filled with laughter.

orangina...

I simply can't wait for Handspring to deliver my new ORANGE Visor. Clean slates aren't really clean until you have a new date book (or in this case, a palm pilot thingamajig) in which to record your new life. I know Paul and Bookstore Michael would be so proud.

the new lois...

So the papers are signed and my new job, which will from this point forward be referred to simply as "lois", is a reality. I'm off to Ohio this morning for some mental health rejuvenation before diving head first into a lake of anxious and fiery hard work.
