on my laptop...
spinner.com -- new indie
I've grown very attached to spinner over the past week or so. Late night, uninterrupted college radio music that I don't have the money to shop for anymore. When I'm lucky, I catch the new Rebecca Gates single and it spins me in a smile.

Personal History
I did take a time out in the bath last week to read the new Nick Bantock book called The Gryphon in which the correspondence between Griffin and Sabine is rediscovered. It was absolutely gripping and dripping with beauty... but Ms. Graham isn't too shabby herself.

nightmare...
Today when I collapsed with abdominal pains and nearly passed out, I became acutely aware that I was inside one of those nightmare scenarios when you've moved to a new town and you have no idea how you're going to get yourself to the emergency room. A nightmare of unlimited proportions, only to be surpassed by the realization while I was changing into one of those flimsy and embarrassing hospital gowns that one of Todd's groomsmen-- a guy that he calls Tall Paul who is a student at Georgetown University Medical School-- could actually be my physician. Luckily he wasn't. Edward Norton was. I was thinking about asking Ed if he knew Tall Paul, but then thought that maybe it wasn't a universal nickname.

I bet he would have known who I was talking about, though. I mean, he is tall.

And don't worry-- I'm fine, as I trust you've gathered by now.
