the official word...
Crocusses or croci? Turns out both are correct, just as both were incredibly lovely when I ran into tiny purple versions blooming oh-so-early at the bottom of a ravine on my hike last Friday.

highlights from a Friday night phone call...
Laine and I spent over two hours on the telephone on Friday night providing alternacommentary for the Olympic opening ceremony. I'm going to have to confer with Laine to obtain the highlights reel, as the only quote I can remember is: "That girl is 30 and has been in four Winter Olympic Games. I'm 30 and I haven't even watched four Winter Olympic Games."

dream valentines...
B asked if he could buy me a shelf full of key lime pie fat free light yogurt for Valentine's day. I smiled so incredibly big, imagining what heaven that would be and gave him an enthusiastic confirmation that I thought it to be a perfect idea.

reruns...
On Friday morning, I randomly happened into a business meeting with someone I worked with seven years ago on the CDC's Youth Risk Behavior Survey. It was fun catching up in her office after the meeting and remembering that carefree time in my life post-college but pre-realworld. Later on the telephone with my mother, I remarked that I don't think enough extras showed up for the casting call for my life... since I keep randomly bumping into the same people over and over.

word of caution...
Todd-- Valentine's Day is coming up on Thursday. Watch you ankles.
