A NPR news story about the magical karma of BookCrossing.com-- an online program that encourages you to read, register, and then release books into the wild for other people to enjoy. You can track your released books via their BCID online journal entries or you can hunt down a free, good read in your area. Finally-- a good home for all my galleys culled from years at the bookstore.

dinnifer...
After years of hearing stories about her, sharing a few telephone calls and emails, and meeting her DC friends from when she used to live here, I finally met face to face with Laine's fantastic friend and college roommate, Jennifer. We met for dinner on Tuesday night and fell into conversation as if we'd always known one another. In fact I was so excited about meeting her-- and subsequently inviting myself to North Carolina for long weekends with drinks on the porch-- that I told both B and Laine about my wonderful Jenner with Dinnifer.

found-- briefly...
Bruce tossed a few emails my way last week and then shuffled back into his busy oblivion. It had been months and months and it was good to hear from him again... even if it was the same old biting sarcasm that I can't help but love.
