The apartment was void and empty, like I'd seen it so many times
before. Clad in a kind of solitude that has often welcomed me warmly after a night out with friends or
the door closes behind a weekend of guests. And though that truly warm welcome was nowhere to be found,
not even in the tiny crevices where the carpet has snagged ever-so-slightly, I really felt fine.
Really.
And then next to my computer I found his simple dry cleaning tag. And suddenly fine was nowhere to
be found as well.
