Nudged awake
with sugary pop and brooding emo... it's just been too long, my
Breakfast of Champion friends.
in the
know...
Though I was
too lazy to buy paint last
Sunday, I was motivated enough to laze around the Curious
Liquids Cafe in hopes of finishing my book and to stop by
Michael's to pick up the last Buffy and Angel
installments... only to have Michael casually mention that there
IS a 24-hour Home Depot, RIGHT BY MY APARTMENT. He hadn't even
read my latest post and instead just pulled that fact out of
nowhere... such kismet.
sharing...
When Allison
wrote to tell me that she didn't want to finish Shampoo
Planet because she felt like the characters were her
friends, it was the most excited I've been in the longest time.
The idea of sharing something so akin to my soul and having it be
wrapped in the same enthusiasm is one of life's most profound
connections. It stokes my desire to inspire this next generation.
blizzards...
Todd and I
were just staring out the window trying to figure out if it's
still snowing. Todd said he couldn't discern snowfall from cells
on his retina. In other words, a blizzard it is not.
Weatherpeople... so deprived this winter, making blizzards out of
flurries.
puffin
disappearance...
Erika
just informed me that the puffins are leaving the aquarium on
February 27th. Now I want to make daily pilgrimages to see them
before they go. We're scheming up a way to kidnap one, though I
don't think it will be happy living in my shower stall and eating
cheerios.
humility...
Madison
Magazine has an interview with Paul Thomas Anderson this
month about the making of Magnolia. And though he comes
off with the least amount of grace, it doesn't really change the
way I feel about this film. LA Michael was spot on.
