B's recoding the backside of whirlygirl in order to brush up on his CSS skills. He's busy at his desk
making it look exactly the same without all of these nightmarish tables and redundant javascripts. I just emailed to Bev
that I remember when I used to have the energy to learn new terribly techie things, but I believe those days are gone. Though
I explain and preach about CSS to clients on a daily basis, I haven't been bothered to employ the technique on my own. I believe
I will exhaust my last bit of learn-some-techie-new-thing energy on learning how the hell to play inside my new, streamlined site.
So I figured it was about time for me to get back on that familiar update horse. After all-- I have to make all of this
flipside slaving worth his effort. It's the least I can do-- to give these little clack-click-clack-clack-"Who's-Your-Daddy" noises/
chants behind me a purpose.
In other not-so-news news, I'm reading a book by Geoff Dyer called Yoga for People Who Can't Be Bothered to Do It--
but I swear it was written by my friend, Jim. That-- or this guy Geoff followed my friend Jim around Southeast Asia and wrote down all of his
experiences. By reading it I feel like I'm catching up with Jim after years of lost contact-- and in the process I'm blending all of the real
Jim experiences with these fake Jim experiences, making me positive that we're bound to have some confusing conversations in the
future.
And I have self-diagnosed eye strain-- probably from doing things like updating this site and reading books by my fake Jim friends.
It's day three of the old headache-behind-my-eyes carnival of laughs. I've taken four Excedrin Migraine, four Aleve, one Alavert, and
two of sick days since Monday-- and still the pulsating bastard goes on.
And speaking of bastards... |
