B took some time out this weekend to create the Flickr link on the right so that
we can keep you abreast of our progress... or more appropriately our destruction.
After three trips to Home Depot in two days, we decided to take a Sunday drive to the Lowes in Milford.
Along the way-- at some point during our conversation about how Bush gave Cheney the order to tell
Jonathan Lipnicki that he could leak the names of all CIA agents named Valerie-- we passed Holliston's largest
boulder ever. Or eVAR. Seriously. Joshua Tree big red rocks boulder big.
And since B had been talking earlier about how he "eventually" wanted a stone wall in our back yard, just
beyond the Forsythia bushes now in bloom, he said, "We should get that rock to start our stone wall. It's
basically the same M.O. we have for everything else."
And he's right.
Saturday afternoon as I pulled back the painters' tape from the trim in the master bedroom, along with some of the brand new paint, I called Brandon in to ask him how difficult it would be to remove all of the window trim, door trim, and baseboards. Only to hear him tell it, I called to him in my best Princess voice commanding, "Farmboy, rip up these floorboards--NOW!" And about three hours later, he'd removed two rooms of trim and baseboards and we were measuring for new windows and looking up trim configurations online.
We take big bites here. Big boulder bites. |
